Los Angeles Angels outfielder and Asheville native, Cameron Maybin & family host the Maybin Mission Holiday Project in partnership with The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Buncombe County.
The Maybin Mission Holiday Project is a program designed to support families in need during the holiday season in Cameron Maybin's hometown of Asheville, NC. In 2016, the Maybin's will sponsor over thirty (30) Boys & Girls Club kids from The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program, as profiled below.
Along with the familiar Red Kettles, the Angel Tree program is one of The Salvation Army’s highest profile Christmas efforts. Angel Tree was created in 1979 by Majors Charles and Shirley White when they worked with a Lynchburg, Virginia shopping mall to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmas time.
Year after year, Angel Trees represent the wishes and desires of children in need during the holiday season. The Maybin MIssion Holiday Project will ensure that Asheville families and children have their specific needs and wants met for a warm and joyous holiday experience.
'Tis the season to give back, so join the Maybin Mission and help us spread holiday cheer to those less fortunate by sponsoring an Angel or making a donation to benefit our community partner.
